We are seeking a North American Sales Manager.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:

Responsible for overseeing all sales-related activities within the Western brand. Staff and direct a team of Regional Sales Managers and provide leadership towards the achievement of company goals and objectives. Assist in planning and executing sales strategies, meetings, and presentations for new and existing Dealers. Establish intra-company plans and strategies to enhance and expand our Dealer network to strengthen our CSI-wide, North American market share position.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:

  • Participate in the establishment and implementation of sales programs and Dealer developmental strategies for the Western brand sales group and Dealer network.
  • Conduct annual one-on-one performance reviews with each RSM.
  • Responsible for employee recruiting, terminating, and training.
  • Assist VP, Sales – Douglas Dynamics in establishing Preseason and Annual bonus/incentive plans for sales group.
  • Assist VP, Sales – Douglas Dynamics in establishing Preseason and Annual forecasts. Provide periodic review and recommended revisions to brands sales forecasts
  • Manage departmental fiscal budgets and appropriate funds accordingly.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in key markets.
  • Establish and disseminate various departmental reports and summaries on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
  • Responsible for direct sales duties within assigned territory including Customer Connect visits.
  • Conduct competitive market surveys of present and potential markets for new or supplemental distribution. Oversight of RSM market surveys.
  • Assist Dealers in planning marketing strategies and objectives.
  • Maintain annual Dealer spreadsheet tracking including competitive brands carried, dealer report cards, national market share, and Dealer business types.
  • Responsible for Dealer sales training, including regional and individual schools.
  • Responsible for Dealer development, including sales growth, service school attendance, supporting full product line and new product sell-in.
  • Attend national trade shows, regional industry shows, as well as regional Dealer shows, fairs and open houses.
  • Assist in gathering competitor intelligence, pricing and programs.
  • Remain up to date on our product features and benefits as well as those of our competitors.
  • Take an active role in all sales school activities, including the ability to present all or part of the program to Dealer groups.
  • Accurately and concisely, report product/program concerns from the field in a timely manner through the provided CRM call report format in OnContact.
  • Responsible for effective management of time and expenses related to territory travel.
  • Understand and confidently use the electronic tools provided for Dealer and end-user use via the web and other electronic means.
  • Extensive travel (70%-80%) required within respective territory and with RSMs across North America.
  • Develop and discuss marketing plans with Dealers. Develop and support an advertising plan for key Dealers and help put the plan into action.
  • Work to meet all assigned product and distribution goals and continually look for opportunities to grow the business.
  • Cooperate in the company wide effort to make Fisher and SnowEx leaders in all the markets that they serve (support CSI as well as Western).
  • Develop, maintain, and provide guidance to self and RSM team in establishment and execution of month strategy deployment objectives and bowling charts.
  • Administer MAP policy.
  • Administer Municipal Bid program
  • Manage brand’s annual preseason order writing program including changes and successful launch
  • Maintain OX product forecasting database throughout the year.

WHAT THIS ROLE NEEDS:

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing or equivalent.

Licenses/Certificates: Must have a valid state driver's license, must meet DOT requirements to operate a DOT registered vehicle, and can obtain a passport for business travel outside the U.S.

Technology/Equipment: Must have extensive knowledge of truck equipment industry including truck-related terms, applications, competitive information, etc. Must have working knowledge of Windows-based programs to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.

Additional Skills: Should possess a high level of written/verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills. Position requires college-level mathematical skills. Must have strong analytical skills and the ability to think logically and practically before making decisions.
