Facility & Maintenance Supervisor

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:

Lead and work alongside facility maintenance team to support daily production, project needs, development, and implement predictive/preventive maintenance programs for all facets of production equipment and facility infrastructure. Support development and adherence to maintenance and facility programs and reporting.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:

  • Hands-on Supervisor responsible for supporting workplace safety processes as defined by OSHA, government regulations, industry standards, and Company policy.
  • Lead and work alongside the facility maintenance team, providing hands-on support while developing, implementing, and managing effective preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and useful life of production machinery (various fabrication equipment including lasers, press brakes, rotomolding machines, assembly tools and various facility support equipment, etc.)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in industrial or commercial equipment; electrical experience is preferred.
  • Work collaboratively with Manufacturing and Engineering resources to troubleshoot, resolve an prevent equipment related issues.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
  • Define goals, prioritize actions, motivate associates, monitor results, address daily work performance issues, including workmanship standards and corrective action/write-ups, and complete performance evaluations for the maintenance team.
  • Participate in accident/incident investigations as required and assist production supervisors in determining root cause and corrective actions. Engage in activities to implement corrective actions.
  • Enforce safety regulations and take action to remove safety hazards.
  • Train and coach employees in safety procedures. Observe daily work to ensure that workers conform to safety policies.
  • Maintain all operating licenses in good standing. When needed, support sampling, compiling test reports, and submitting required information to appropriate agencies.
  • Act as a liaison between the company and contract/contractor/OEM resources, facility security and consumables management.
  • Liaise with local building, zoning departments, and site inspection activities to stay current on code requirements and risk mitigation methods.
  • Ensure all maintenance and construction activities comply with local zoning laws and building regulations.
  • Actively participate in/lead various lean initiatives as a part of the ongoing continuous improvement strategy of the company. In a team environment, identify waste and implement changes to yield measurable improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
  • Prioritize assignments and monitor performance for maintenance team within framework of company objectives.
  • Personally work in a safe manner that sets an example to fellow employees.
  • Follow and enforce all Company rules and policies.
  • Manage departmental budgets and support budget planning of various repair accounts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience: Minimum Requirements: Associates or two-year technical degree in a Technical Discipline coupled with Facility/Equipment Maintenance training or experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Technical Military training is also acceptable.

Experience and/or Training: Experience in a manufacturing environment with exposure to shop floor processes. Proven experience managing employees and working in a team environment. Clear and concise communication skills. Mechanically inclined and self-motivated, previous supervision experience preferred.

Technology/Equipment:

  • Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Familiar with eMaint or other CMMS software
  • Establish and maintain machine and facility maintenance programs.
  • Experience with virtual meeting technology

Additional Skills:

  • Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills
  • Ability to act as a role model, mentor or coach and trainer for key stakeholders to build team capability
  • Experience with the management of data, including logs and records required to demonstrate compliance
  • Proficient in ability to communicate broadly and effectively to employees at all levels or the organization.

Physical requirements

  • Vision; near; distance, color, peripheral and depth perception
  • Able to stand and walk
  • Able to reach above shoulders and outward
  • Able to bend, squat and crawl
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Wear personal protective equipment properly such as
    • Eyewear – Safety Glasses always, Face Shield as operation requires.
    • Hearing protection
    • Safety shoes with metatarsal guards
    • Breathing apparatuses
    • Gloves
  • Able to perform required duties in the office

Employee will spend majority of the day on the shop floor and will be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, noise, extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. Employee must be comfortable in a fast paced, continuously changing environment.
