HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:

The P&A Assembler/Packer will perform a variety of bench and structural assembly, boxing and bagging operations of parts, components, and assemblies for the company’s snowplow and Ice Control products lines and accessories. Assembly may be performed on a paced conveyor or non-paced environment. Sets up and operates machinery and equipment such as assembly and packaging, unloading parts from a powered conveyor, bagging machines, strapper, and assorted power and hand tools. Actively participates in team and total quality commitment activities. Performs designated maintenance functions; assumes ownership for quality of all products. Participates in training and 5-S activities.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:

  • Pick customer orders accurately according to pick lists instructions
  • Verify correct part numbers, quantities, and packaging requirements before staging orders
  • Ensure container contents are examined and verified accurately with records, such as manifests, invoices, and orders.
  • Ensure accuracy of work orders, bills of lading and shipping orders for routing of goods.
  • Ensure shipment data is documented, weight, charges, space availability, damages, and discrepancies.
  • Ensure packaging, labeling/freight is executed according to established SOPs & quality standards.
  • Ship all orders ON TIME, maintaining a 98% DIFOT average and document.
  • Operate Parts Kanban System for finished goods.
  • Provide input on carriers’ performance as needed.
  • Uphold company image and implement company SOPs for packing/labeling/shipping of product.
  • Maintain departmental equipment.
  • Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain established min max levels.
  • Participate in Lean activities as requested.
  • Attend all departmental meetings.
  • Meet goals set for the department.
  • Complete all assigned documentation and turn it in by established deadlines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of basic lean concepts.
  • Prior background in a manufacturing setting.
  • Product knowledge.
  • Microsoft Office, UPS World Ship, Smart Sheets
  • Forklift (sit-down and stand-up)
  • Organizational and research skills
  • Ability to report daily production
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to perform basic math
  • Ability to focus on multiple priorities and work a flexible schedule as needed
  • Able to stand and walk
  • Able to reach above shoulders and outward
  • Able to bend, squat and crawl
  • Able to work in both hold and cold temperatures
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
