Project Management Office Manager

We are seeking a Project Management Office Manager.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:

The PMO Program Manager reports directly to the V.P. of Engineering and oversees the project and program portfolio for the Commercial Snow and Ice division of Douglas Dynamics.

This role establishes best practices, optimizes project management processes, and ensures alignment with business goals. The Manager serves as a key liaison between executive leadership and cross-functional teams, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project managers responsible for new product development initiatives
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the PMO and project teams
  • Establish and continuously improve project management methodologies, tools, and processes
  • Drive strategic planning and process improvements to enhance the overall effectiveness of the project management function.
  • Assist the Product Management Team on project portfolio management, ensuring alignment with business priorities and resource availability.
  • Oversee the weekly/monthly project reporting and gate reviews for the entire portfolio
  • Monitor project performance metrics and implement strategies to improve efficiency, risk management, and on-time delivery.
  • Develop NPD/PM metrics and reporting formats to accurately show project maturity and performance
  • Provide executive-level reporting on project progress, key milestones, and potential risks
  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale and higher risk new product development projects.
  • May lead large-scale or higher risk product improvement projects, manufacturing projects, or other non-NPD projects.

WHAT THIS ROLE NEEDS:

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field required. MBA desired.

Experience and/or Training:

  • 7+ years of project management experience; at least 3 years in a leadership or management role
  • Experience in durable goods development and manufacturing preferred
  • Strong background in new product development, product lifecycle management, and cross-functional team leadership
  • Proven ability to develop and implement process improvements and governance frameworks
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Licenses/Certificates:

  • CAPM Certification required; PMP Certification desired; Agile related certifications desired

Technology/Equipment:

  • MS Office, Office 365, and Teams proficient
  • Experience with Project and Portfolio Management Software preferred
