THE ROLE

We are seeking a 1st shift Operator to join our team and help drive our continued success. This role plays an important part in supporting our customers, strengthening our business, and contributing to the long-term growth of Douglas Dynamics. Regular 1st shift schedule is 6:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Thursday, with overtime Fridays.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

• Operate assigned equipment, identify and correct problems as they occur.
• Run test cycles and do quality audits to maintain accuracy and quality.
• Maintain safety, quality, and through put as required.
• Perform timely upkeep of equipment and programs.
• Communicate with other departments/shifts daily.
• Keep work area, tools, material, and equipment clean and orderly.
• Work in a safe manner and report unsafe conditions as required.
• Track use of consumables and record production data daily.
• Willingness to operate all equipment in the Fab business unit after completing equipment training.

WHAT THIS ROLE NEEDS

Requirements:

• Computer literacy
• Ability to read and understand blueprints/specifications
• Ability to stand, walk, reach above shoulders and outward, bend, squat, crawl
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Desired Skills:

• Ability to read and understand calipers, micrometer, and protractors
• Ability to setup and operate fabrication equipment
• Prior experience in metal fabrication
