JOB SUMMARY: The Regional Sales Manager is to be the SnowEx representative for the distributor, dealer and user accounts. The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for all increasing sales through distributor, authorized dealer and end-user accounts for all TrynEx Brands.  This position can be based in MN, WI, IA or IL.

As the sales manager of the area, build an in-depth knowledge of the territory, customers/end users and competitors.

  1. Know and understand the key economic and climate drivers for the area
  2. Gather information and draw a quantitative picture of the geography
  3. Draw a qualitative description of the area using SWOT Analysis, Key Account Management, and other account management tools
  4. Propose for validation to management a general market development strategy for the geography in-line with the sales objectives for the area
  5. Use every opportunity to improve market knowledge by collecting data from the customer (sell-in, sell-out prices, competitor policy and performance, state of business at customers) and circulate this information within the Douglas Dynamics, LLC organization
  6. Promote the company-wide effort to make Douglas Dynamics, LLC. the leader in all markets served

Define an operational sales plan for the territory

  1. Know precisely the business objectives and sales growth expected from the territory
  2. For all distributors build and execute a sell-in business plan including key business objectives and critical levers identified to achieve sales objectives.
  3. Define sales call frequency to optimize efficiency.
  4. Build and execute sell-out sales strategies for factory authorized dealers and end-users
  5. Always look for order and/or commitment at every visit.

Ensure customers/end users satisfaction by providing outstanding support

  1. Visit all customers/end users following the territory’s operational plan and/or monthly instructions. Due to various business constraints (number of customers, territory size, meeting requirements) extensive travel is anticipated, particularly during the pre-season period (April – June). Occasional weekend commitments will be required. 70%-80% travel is anticipated.
  2. Guarantee the accurate and proper communication Douglas Dynamics and customers.
  3. Prepare and execute customers/end users visits perfectly using the selling methods and tools recommended.
  4. Responsible for distributor sales training, including regional and individual sales schools, including the ability to present one-on-one as well as large distributor groups
  5. Attend national and regional industry trade shows as well as distributor shows and open houses
  6. Manage customers/end users objections and complaints promptly
  7. Understand and confidently use the vehicle selection list and all electronic tools provided

Regularly follow up the results, analyze gaps and propose corrective actions.

  1. On a regular basis, compare results with objectives on all aspects: business results, commercial performance, and activity.
  2. Analyze, understand and explain the gaps (both positive and negative). When necessary propose corrective actions to management during a monthly review.
  3. At the customers/end users’ level, analyze the progress of the customer business plan and recommend necessary corrective actions.
  4. Participate as required with continuous improvement teams related to products, systems, and procedures.

Complete all the relevant administrative work including but not limited to: call reports, weekly status reports, planning itineraries, expenses reports.
