We are seeking a Distributor Sales Manager

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:

The Distributor Sales Manager is the sales representative for the Douglas Dynamics brands sold through distribution. They are responsible for the sales, support, training, and revenue for the designated accounts in the distributor geographies. Their primary function is to work with the distributor sales teams to grow market share for the brands sold. This is a remote position that can be based anywhere in the United States.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:

  1. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing distributors, delivering continuous support, training, and resources to drive sales performance.
  2. Develop, maintain, and execute strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets and bolster market share for the SnowEx brand.
  3. Develop comprehensive knowledge of the snow & ice market in the Distributor’s assigned geography. Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for growth and recommend strategies for improvement.
  4. Collaborate cross-functionally with product marketing, advertising, inside sales, and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment of sales strategies with business objectives.
  5. Develop the annual sell-in plan with consideration of current inventory, field forecasting, and sales objectives. Monitor performance metrics, track against goals, and prepare timely reports, gap-analysis, and proposals for performance gaps as established.
  6. Complete all relevant administrative work including, but not limited to call reports, weekly status reports, planning itineraries, expense reports.

WHAT THIS ROLE NEEDS:

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in marketing or similar business function. A minimum of four to seven years of progressive sales experience is required, with a preference for candidates who have experience selling through a distribution channel model.

Physical Demands: The employee will frequently sit, stand, walk, reach, and grasp. The employee must have the ability to perform required duties in the office, on the factory floor, and may be required to lift up to 25 lbs.

Work Environment: Standard office setting with some exposure to the factory floor. The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Travel Requirements: Valid driver’s license and passport are required. Up to 75% travel required (domestic and international).
